Animation is an interest I developed during my studies and within this project I aimed to improve my skills and understanding of the medium. The character of Norman was inspired by the book ‘The Penguin Lesson’ by Tom Mitchel that focuses on a rescued penguin named Juan Salvado who takes up residency at a boarding school in Argentina. I used a range of techniques and software’s (After Effects, Premier Pro and Procreate Dreams) to create a dynamic and styled video that represents the penguins adventurous personality. The storyline is short and focused, depicting Normans adventure from the depths of the ocean to the vast emptiness of space.
